In their opening game, Buchy defeated Jeff Guignard (Vancouver, BC) 8-2, then went on to lose 9-2 against John Morris (Vernon, BC). Buchy responded with a 10-9 win over Wes Craig (Victoria, BC). Buchy went on to lose 8-3 against Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC). Buchy lost 4-2 to Glen Jackson (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Buchy earned 1.199 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 337th place overall with 7.169 total points. Buchy ranks 340th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.299 points earned so far this season.
