In their opening game, Buchy defeated Jeff Guignard (Vancouver, BC) 8-2, then went on to lose 9-2 against John Morris (Vernon, BC). Buchy responded with a 10-9 win over Wes Craig (Victoria, BC). Buchy went on to lose 8-3 against Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC). Buchy lost 4-2 to Glen Jackson (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
