Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC) lost 6-3 to John Morris (Vernon, BC) in the Final of the BC belairdirect Mens Provincials, held February 8 - 12, 2017 in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Joanisse finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Joanisse lost 7-2 to Ken McArdle (Victoria, BC), then responded with a 12-1 win over Mark Longworth (Vernon, BC). Joanisse won 8-3 against Tom Buchy (Kimberley, BC), then won 6-4 against Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC) and 5-3 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
