In their opening game, Friesen lost 6-5 to Serena Gray-Withers (Springfield, MB), then responded with a 8-2 win over Justine Pratcshler (La Salle, MB). Friesen won 7-6 against Meghan Walter (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
