To advance to the championship game, Walter won 7-0 over Weston Oryniak (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Teulon MJCT Men in Teulon, Manitoba;
 
Walter finished 4-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walter defeated Jack Hykaway (Winnipeg, MB) 4-3, then won 4-1 against Mason Sabourin (Teulon, MB) and 6-3 against Friesen. Walter won 6-4 against Carter Watkins (Swan River, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
