Sherrard finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sherrard defeated Gary Mitchell (Saint John, NB) 9-1, then went on to lose 5-3 against Tallon. Sherrard responded with a 10-2 win over David McCullum (Saint John, NB). Sherrard won 7-4 against Chris Daigle (Rothesay, NB), then won 8-7 against Robert Vaughan (Rothesay, NB) and 7-6 against Jean Guy Boudreau (Moncton, NB). Sherrard went on to lose 8-5 against Terry Odishaw (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
