In their opening game, Melville defeated Monica Lynn (Warminster, PA) 8-4, then won 9-4 against Michael Glessner (Philadephia, PA) and 7-2 against Christopher Gray (Warminster, PA). Melville won 9-3 against Nicole Prohaska (Plainfield, NJ). Melville went on to lose 6-4 against Melvin Shaw (Potomac, MD) in their final qualifying round match.
