In their opening game, Kochan lost 8-2 to Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 12-7 win over Eddie MacKenzie (Charlottetown, PEI). Kochan won 10-1 against Jim Nix (Iqaluit, NU) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Tim Hortons Brier Pre-Qualifier, Kochan take home 6.270 world rankings points, moving up 292 spots the World Ranking Standings into 361st place overall with 6.376 total points. Kochan ranks 275th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.270 points earned so far this season.
