Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) lost 7-4 to Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, held September 5 - 10, 2017 in Regina, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Carey won 11-3 over Jamie Sinclair (Blaine, USA) in the semifinals of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Regina, Saskatchewan; and won 8-5 over Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Regina, Saskatchewan;
 
Carey finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Amber Holland (Moose Jaw, SK) 11-2, then won 8-3 against Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK). Carey went on to lose 6-5 against Rocque. Carey responded with a 7-6 win over Sinclair in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, Carey take home 36.231 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 20th place overall with 192.880 total points. Carey ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 36.231 points earned so far this season.
