Craig Brown (Madison, USA) qualified for the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK). of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Regina, Saskatchewan;

Brown finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brown defeated Greg Drummond (Stirling, SCO) 7-4, then went on to lose 6-2 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB). Brown responded with a 5-4 win over Jason Jacobson (Saskatoon, SK). Brown won 8-2 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Brown earned 19.937 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, remaining in 24th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 169.912 total points. Brown ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.364 points earned so far this season.
