Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) run at the 2017 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings came to an end in the semifinals with a 6-4 loss to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2017 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings in Ottawa, Ontario;

Gushue finished 6-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue lost 6-4 to John Epping (Toronto, ON), then responded with a 6-5 win over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Gushue won 8-6 against John Morris (Vernon, BC). Gushue went on to lose 7-4 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON). Gushue responded with a 9-5 win over Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue won 8-3 against McEwen, then won 8-5 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) and 6-3 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Gushue earned 54.041 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 1st place overall with 877.981 total points. Gushue ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 357.449 points earned so far this season.
