Sweeting won 8-5 against Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB), then won 8-6 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB). Sweeting went on to lose 7-5 against Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON). Sweeting responded with a 7-6 win over Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Sweeting earned 16.516 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 6th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 516.425 total points. Sweeting ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 178.642 points earned so far this season.
