To advance to the championship game, Birchard won 7-5 over Allison Flaxey (Caledon, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 Colonial Square Ladies Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 8-2 over Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggi-do, KOR) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Colonial Square Ladies Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada;

Birchard finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birchard defeated Amber Holland (Regina, SK) 7-3, then won 6-1 against Ashley Howard (Regina, SK) and 4-2 against Jones in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Colonial Square Ladies Classic Championship title, Birchard earned 44.421 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 26th place overall with 172.318 total points.
