In their opening game, Pierce lost 6-5 to Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK), droppimg another game, 7-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) where Pierce responded with a 7-2 win over Kelly McQuiggan (Richmond, BC). Pierce went on to lose 7-6 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Pierce lost 8-5 to Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Pierce earned 1.177 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 2 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 123rd place overall with 32.281 total points. Pierce ranks 75th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 25.927 points earned so far this season.
