Mabergs finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mabergs defeated Mark Longworth (Vernon, BC) 5-4, then won 5-4 against Kristian Lindstroem (Lit, SWE) and 7-4 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Mabergs won 8-0 against Jeff Guignard (Vancouver, BC). Mabergs went on to lose 6-1 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Mabergs earned 23.531 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Ashley Home Store Curling Classic, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 37th place overall with 162.788 total points. Mabergs ranks 32nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 57.894 points earned so far this season.
