Kauste lost 9-3 to Dorottya Palancsa (Budapest, HUN) where Kauste responded with a 9-6 win over Ekaterina Kirillova (Minsk, BLR). Kauste won 8-7 against Anne Shibuya (Belo Horizonte, BRZ), then won 6-4 against Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
