Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS) won 7-5 over Isabella Wrana (Sundbyberg , SWE) in the Final of the Royal LePage OVCA Women's Fall Classic, held November 2 - 5, 2017 at the North Grenville Curling Club in Kemptville, Canada. To advance to the championship game, MacDiarmid won 8-0 over Sarah Daniels (Delta, BC) in the semifinals of the 2017 Royal LePage OVCA Women's Fall Classic in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-5 over Victoria Moiseeva (St. Petersburg, RUS) in the quarterfinals.
 
MacDiarmid finished 4-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacDiarmid defeated Susan Froud (Waterloo, ON) 6-3, then won 6-5 against Daniels. MacDiarmid went on to lose 11-3 against Moiseeva. MacDiarmid lost 8-7 to Barb Spencer (winnnipeg, MB) where MacDiarmid responded with a 5-4 win over Katelyn Wasylkiw (Unionville, ON). MacDiarmid won 6-2 against Robyn MacPhee (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Royal LePage OVCA Women's Fall Classic Championship title, MacDiarmid earned 30.512 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 56th place overall with 85.397 total points. MacDiarmid ranks 40th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 43.358 points earned so far this season.
