Calvert finished 2-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Calvert lost 5-4 to JT Ryan (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 4-2 win over Trevor Bonot (Thunder Bay, ON). Calvert won 7-3 against Ryan in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Spider Performance Icebreaker at The Granite Championship title, Calvert earned 24.331 world rankings points along with the $2,200CDN first prize cheque, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 31st place overall with 117.014 total points.
