Stevens finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stevens lost 5-4 to Scott Jones (Moncton, NB), then responded with a 8-6 win over Greg Smith (St. John's, NL). Stevens won 6-1 against Adam Boland (St. John's, NL). Stevens went on to lose 9-8 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS). Stevens responded with a 7-4 win over Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
