John Morris (Vernon, BC) qualified for the 2017 Direct Horizontal Drilling Fall Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). of the 2017 Direct Horizontal Drilling Fall Classic in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;

Morris finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morris defeated Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) 4-2, then went on to lose 8-7 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Morris won 6-1 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK), then won 7-3 against Charley Thomas (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
