Morozumi finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Kanya Shimizuno (Furano, JPN) 9-2, then won 9-2 against Junpei Kanda (Tokyo, JPN). Morozumi went on to lose 7-3 against Kim in their final qualifying round match.
