Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC) won 6-5 over Dean Joanisse (Maple Ridge, BC) in the Final of the King Cash Spiel, held September 15 - 18, 2017 at the Golden Ears Curling Club in Maple Ridge, Canada. Geall finished 4-0 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Geall defeated Stephen Schneider (Vancouver, BC) 7-2, then won 10-1 against Bob Leclair (Tempe, AZ) and 6-2 against Jason Peckham (Abbotsford, BC). Geall won 6-1 against Tardi in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the King Cash Spiel Championship title, Geall earned 17.900 world rankings points along with the $4,500CDN first prize cheque. For week 6 of the event schedule, Geall did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 89th to 90th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 33.241 total points. Geall ranks 506th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.000 points earned so far this season.
