Sluchinski went on to lose 4-3 against Colton Flasch (Saskatoon, SK). Sluchinski responded with a 8-7 win over Korea's Soo-Hyuk Kim in their final qualifying round match.

Sluchinski earned 15.263 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Red Deer Curling Classic.
