In their opening game, Hess defeated Harri Lill (Tallinn, EST) 6-5, then won 6-4 against Martins Truksans (Riga, LAT) and 5-3 against Janis Bremanis (Riga, LAT). Hess won 7-6 against Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Latvia International Challenger, Hess take home 9.055 world rankings points along with the $1,189CDN prize, moving up 21 spots the World Ranking Standings into 93rd place overall with 42.308 total points. Hess ranks 99th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.718 points earned so far this season.
