Stjerne finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stjerne defeated Karlis Smilga (Riga, LAT) 7-3, then won 8-2 against Greg Dunn (Kent, ENG) and 9-1 against Steffen R. Mellemseter (Oppdal, NOR). Stjerne won 6-3 against Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Latvia International Challenger Championship title, Stjerne earned 11.524 world rankings points along with the $2,081CDN first prize cheque, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 44th place overall with 127.653 total points. Stjerne ranks 76th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.335 points earned so far this season.
