Hegner lost 5-4 to Eve Muirhead (Perth , SCO) where Hegner responded with a 8-1 win over Lisa Farnell (Tunbridge Wells, ENG). Hegner went on to lose 8-1 against Ayumi Ogasawara (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
