In their opening game, Kinnear lost 8-4 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO), droppimg another game, 5-3 to Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) where Kinnear responded with a 5-1 win over Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Kinnear won 6-4 against Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuhel, AUT) in their final qualifying round match.
