Charette finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Charette defeated Martin Patry (Buckingham, QC) 8-6, then won 8-4 against Marc Bourguignon (Ottawa, ON) and 7-4 against John Goold (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
