Balderston finished 4-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balderston defeated Graham Powell (Grande Prairie, AB) 5-3, then won 6-4 against Cross and 8-6 against Steinke. Balderston won 6-2 against Scott Webb (Peace River, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Dawson Creek Cash Spiel - Competitive Championship title, Balderston earned 12.380 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN first prize cheque.
