Chadd Vandermade (Ottawa, ON) qualified for the 2017 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-4 against Chris Gardner (Buckingham, QC). of the 2017 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel in Ottawa, Ontario;

Vandermade finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vandermade defeated John Steski (Ottawa, ON) 8-4, then won 8-4 against Seb Soucy (Ottawa, ON). Vandermade went on to lose 8-5 against Dawn Butler (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Vandermade earned 6.119 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel, moving up 58 spots the World Ranking Standings into 184th place overall with 12.908 total points.
