In their opening game, Manitoba's Mike McEwen defeated Arizona's Darryl Horsman 7-5, then won 10-4 against Bob Leclair (Tempe, AZ) and 8-2 against Geall. Manitoba's Mike McEwen won 6-4 against Kroy Nernberger (Blaine, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
