CHAMPION: Skaslien/Nedregotten Wins 2017 International Mixed Doubles Sochi

Kristin Moen Skaslien/Magnus Nedregotten (Oslo, NOR) won 8-7 over Anastasia Bryzgalova/Alexander Krushelnitskiy (St. Petersburg, RUS) in the Final of the International Mixed Doubles Sochi, held November 9 - 12, 2017 in Sochi, Russia.

Skaslien/Nedregotten finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Skaslien/Nedregotten defeated Nadezhda Okorokova/Yury Morozov (Moscow, RUS) 10-1, then won 9-4 against Viktoria Enbaeva/Dmitry Mironov (Sochi, RUS) and 7-4 against Olga Kotelnikova/Alexey Tuzov (Dmitrov, RUS). Skaslien/Nedregotten won 8-6 against Bryzgalova/Krushelnitskiy. Skaslien/Nedregotten went on to lose 7-5 against Anastasia Khalanskaia/Andrey Drozdov (St. Petersburg, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the International Mixed Doubles Sochi Championship title, Skaslien/Nedregotten earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $4,456CDN first prize cheque. For week 14 of the event schedule, Skaslien/Nedregotten did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
