Santa Blumberga/Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT) qualified for the 2018 International Mixed Doubles Dumfries playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-6 against Jayne Stirling/Fraser Kingan (Aberdeen, SCO).
 
Blumberga/Gulbis finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Blumberga/Gulbis lost 8-3 to Scotland's Fay Henderson/Andrew Robson, droppimg another game, 9-8 to Michele Jaeggi/Sven Michel (Bern, SUI) where Blumberga/Gulbis responded with a 10-3 win over Anna Fowler/Thomas Jaeggi (Kent, ENG). Blumberga/Gulbis won 9-4 against Scotland's Jacqui Taylor/Andy Taylor, then won 8-6 against Gina Aitken/Duncan Menzies (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
