Sturmay finished 2-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Ryan Parent (Calgary, AB) 6-5, then won 10-2 against Calder Fadden (Fort McMurray, AB). Sturmay went on to lose 6-5 against Mark Taylor (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
