To advance to the championship game, Maschmeyer won 7-3 over Ryleigh Bakker (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Red Deer Elks Junior Womens Spiel in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-2 over Red Deer College (Red Deer, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Red Deer Elks Junior Womens Spiel in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada;
 
Maschmeyer finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maschmeyer defeated Bakker 4-2, then won 7-3 against Kelsie Leeder (Edmonton, AB) and 5-4 against Red Deer College in their final qualifying round match.
