Edin finished 11-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER) 6-5, then won 7-3 against Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI) and 5-2 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Edin won 7-6 against Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO), then won 5-4 against Kim and 7-2 against Rich Ruohonen (Seattle, USA). Edin went on to lose 5-3 against Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR). Edin won 7-3 against Masaki Iwai (Hokkaido, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
