Ruohonen won 5-3 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA), then won 6-5 against Gushue and 7-4 against De Jia Zou (Harbin, CHN). Ruohonen won 5-3 against Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
