Kim won 6-5 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA), then won 9-5 against Walstad and 9-4 against Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.

Kim earned 38.655 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the World Mens Curling Championship. Kim move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 24.993 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 21st overall with 332.32 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
