Pitonak went on to lose 7-6 against Sergio Vez (Vitoria-Gasteiz, ESP). Pitonak lost 9-8 to Harri Lill (Tallinn, EST) where Pitonak responded with a 11-10 win over Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR). Pitonak went on to lose 11-8 against Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Pitonak earned 2.244 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 124 spots the World Ranking Standings into 374th place overall with 2.642 total points. Pitonak ranks 292nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.244 points earned so far this season.
