Kathryn Cullen (Beausejour, MB) lost 6-2 to Rebecca Lamb (Stonewall, MB) in the Final of the Deer Lodge Icebreaker, held September 28 - October 1, 2017 at the Deer Lodge Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Cullen won 5-2 over Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals

Cullen finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cullen defeated Serena Gray-Withers (Springfield, MB) 6-3, then went on to lose 4-3 against Meghan Walter (Winnipeg, MB). Cullen responded with a 6-4 win over Alexandra Friesen (Winnipeg, MB). Cullen went on to lose 6-3 against Paige Watkins (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Deer Lodge Icebreaker, Cullen take home 0.000 world rankings points along with the $300CDN prize.
