John Steski (Ottawa, ON) won 5-2 over Cory Heggestad (Stroud, ON) in the Final of the COMCO Cash Spiel, held November 9 - 12, 2017 at the Stroud Curling Club in Innisfil, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Steski won 6-5 over Jeff Brown (North Bay, NONT) in the semifinals of the 2017 COMCO Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada; and won 4-3 over Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in the quarterfinals.
 
Steski finished 2-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Steski defeated Terry Corbin (Brantford, ON) 7-2, then went on to lose 4-3 against Brown. Steski responded with a 8-3 win over Daryl Shane (Listowel, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the COMCO Cash Spiel Championship title, Steski earned 15.441 world rankings points along with the $3,600CDN first prize cheque. Steski move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 15.025 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 63rd overall with 79.981 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Steski ranks 44th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 47.778 points earned so far this season.
