To advance to the championship game, Tallon won 7-2 over Terry Odishaw (Moncton , NB) in the semifinals of the 2017 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 7-5 over Robert Mayhew (Halifax, NS) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada;

Tallon finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tallon lost 8-7 to Murphy, then responded with a 9-8 win over Dave Sullivan (Saint John, NB). Tallon won 8-1 against Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS), then won 7-5 against Paul Dobson (Saint John, NB). Tallon went on to lose 8-3 against Mayhew in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, Tallon take home 14.859 world rankings points along with the $3,300CDN prize, moving up 155 spots the World Ranking Standings into 190th place overall with 19.475 total points. Tallon ranks 132nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.336 points earned so far this season.
