To advance to the championship game, Derick won 7-5 over Cassandra Lewin (Carp, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 Experience Curling Classic in Baie d'Urfé, Quebec, Canada;

Derick finished 1-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Derick defeated Laura Thomas (Montreal, QC) 9-2, then went on to lose 7-3 against Brigitte Gosselin (Sherbrooke, QC). Derick lost 6-3 to Larouche in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Experience Curling Classic, Derick take home 0.000 world rankings points along with the $720CDN prize.
