Tippin responded with a 7-6 win over Charlie Robert (Sault Ste. Marie, NONT). Tippin went on to lose 7-1 against Mark Kean (Woodstock, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Tippin earned 2.121 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 112th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 43.918 total points. Tippin ranks 83rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 33.237 points earned so far this season.
