Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 6-5 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the Final of the Everest Curling Challenge, held August 25 - 27, 2017 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 9-0 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 Everest Curling Challenge in Fredericton, New Brunswick;
Gushue finished 1-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) 8-4 in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Everest Curling Challenge Championship title, Gushue earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $200,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Gushue did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gushue ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
