To advance to the championship game, Howard won 8-7 over Rachel Fritzler (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2017 Moose Jaw SWCT Event in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 7-4 over Mandy Selzer (Balgonie, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Moose Jaw SWCT Event in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada;
 
Howard finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated Lisa Wyatt (Lumsden, SK) 7-2, then went on to lose 8-5 against Skylar Ackerman (Moose Jaw, SK). Howard responded with a 7-4 win over Amber Holland (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Moose Jaw SWCT Event, Howard take home 13.787 world rankings points along with the $1,600CDN prize, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 75th place overall with 50.565 total points.
