To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 8-4 over Veronica Maschmeyer (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Leduc LIONS Junior Womens Bonspiel in Leduc, Alberta; and won 5-4 over Jessica Wytrychowski (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Leduc LIONS Junior Womens Bonspiel in Leduc, Alberta;
 
Sturmay finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Hollie Vincent (Red Deer, AB) 9-5, then went on to lose 7-3 against Skrlik. Sturmay responded with a 9-2 win over Rebecca Geary (St. Albert, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
