Becker won 10-2 against Chinese Taipei's Randie Shen, then won 8-5 against Hong Kong's Jason Chang and 7-1 against Viktor Kim (Almaty, KAZ). Becker went on to lose 9-1 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Becker earned 2.138 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 75 spots the World Ranking Standings into 363rd place overall with 3.278 total points. Becker ranks 230th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.138 points earned so far this season.
