Harri Lill (Tallinn, EST) 7-5, then went on to lose 6-4 against Sergio Vez (Donostia-San Sebastian, ESP). Golberg responded with a 10-8 win over Belgium's Timothy Verreycken. Golberg won 3-2 against Andrew Woolston (Kent, ENG), then won 8-4 against Gabor Riesz (Budapest, HUN) and 7-4 against Karlis Smilga (Riga, LAT). Golberg went on to lose 8-2 against Aku Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
The berth into the first round of the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships playoffs earned Golberg 8.550 world rankings points, moving up 54 spots the World Ranking Standings into 168th place overall with 21.158 total points. Golberg ranks 135th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.456 points earned so far this season.
