Denmark's Joel Ostrowski 6-4, then went on to lose 9-8 against Jiri Snitil (Prague, CZE). Karagoz lost 9-6 to Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL) where Karagoz responded with a 8-7 win over Theo Ducroz (Chamonix, FRA). Karagoz won 5-4 against Tadas Vyskupaitis (Vilnius, LTU), then won 10-4 against Slovenia's Stefan Sever and 10-4 against James Pougher (Hawarden, WAL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
The berth into the first round of the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships playoffs earned Karagoz 8.550 world rankings points, moving up 173 spots the World Ranking Standings into 247th place overall with 10.047 total points. Karagoz ranks 171st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.550 points earned so far this season.
