Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) finished 6-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS) 11-3, then went on to lose 8-6 against Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). Ulsrud responded with a 6-3 win over Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). Ulsrud won 7-2 against David Misun (Martin, SVK), then won 8-5 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) and 7-4 against Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuhel, AUT). Ulsrud went on to lose 8-7 against Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO). Ulsrud lost 9-7 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) where Ulsrud responded with a 6-4 win over Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER) in their final qualifying round match.

Ulsrud earned 26.009 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 10th place overall with 426.843 total points. Ulsrud ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 152.516 points earned so far this season.
